Arrogance

I'm sorry, but I found this to be the height of arrogance.

Survey sample sizes are at most 10,000 to 20,000 and that's being generous. Atty. Ferdinand Rafanan lectured us today on Election Law updated for this coming Automated Elections. He's the Director of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Legal Office. He told us we have over 50 million registered voters. Even assuming only 60% or about 30 million show up, thats WAY MORE than just 10,000 respondents surveyed.

If we're going to let survey's be the basis of getting cheated, then we might as well not have elections and pay firms to conduct surveys. Why bother with Democracy and and Republican system when we can have a few people represent the majority even in sufferage.

Learned something new today care of an old classmate from high school: the jejemon.

Environment and Genetics

I had a rather interesting discussion with a very intellectual man from America who took up genetics and all that science stuff that's insanely interesting to the layman like myself, but surely very complicated if taken in detail.

We talked about epigenetics (think Assassin's Creed 1 and 2) and basic genetics. I asked him, if he believed that a man's brain, or capacity to divulge knowledge or information may be limited by once's genes.

He said surely yeah, the same way having bad genes can lead you to be austistic, good genes can leave you at a head start. He also of course made mention of the many variables like the environment, which includes family, school etc.

very very interesting couple and his wife is surely very lucky  to have such an intellectually stimulating man. Hope to see him around sometime and that he succeeds at his work so I can say..."hey, i had coffee with that guy who's on CNN now!!!"

Lucky Me!

Last Wednesday I went with Miggie to Shangri-La EDSA Mall to meet up with a friend of hers. Just wanted to share pictures I took of Miggie.

We ate at Wham. Pretty good burgers for the price. I had their spicy burger with Jalapenos and spaghetti plus bottomless four seasons juice. The juice was good and went down well with all the ice. Burger was great, I liked the charbroiled taste. yum yum.

Miggie makes me happy.

Spring Cleaning

That time of the school year when I clean out my desk and move things to their properly labeled boxes. Goodbye Law school hello clean desk, well at least for now.

Some before and after pictures of my spring cleaning. Miggie helped me assemble the foldable boxes.

I also took pictures of all the highlighters I used just for the second semester. Guess this would be an update to a previous post I made about starting the semester with so many. I think I used up more or less 16 or 17 highlighters.

I must pat myself on the back. I knew then when I hit 7 I was on to personal greatness. Highest killstreak without even dying.
