One of the many stories I've been told about my Dad was how he made a benevolent decision, using the constitution, to protect the students of a college in Batangas from being kicked out because of a foreclosure proceeding of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) on the property of the school.
The details were fuzzy but a month ago my sister found this plaque:
Social Justice. Helping those who need it and giving people a chance at a better life. I remember my Dad telling me that even if he could just give them one more semester, or complete the current, at the very least their parent's hard earned money would not have been spent in vain and the students would have been given time to find another school and not mess their whole lives because of a money issue not related to their studies.
