So the outgoing President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is being given heat for her last minute appointments. According to the transition team of the incumbent, GMA appointed about 1,000 people right before the appointment ban happened last March 10, 2010. Noynoy's transition team however says that the number is understated and counts almost 5,000 appointments.
Which got me thinking, for the many better qualified appointees, time will be wasted while they wait for the GMA appointees to finish their term.
However, for the political appointees, which include the under qualified (competence-wise, not legally), it might mean less money for them while they wait for their turn for the political spoils.
So who is to win? I'm sure the under qualified political appointees-in-waiting will be using their more competent appointees-in-waiting as basis to bash the GMA administration.
While GMA has done many good things for our government, Noynoy has won, and, even if he may want a clean government, his avid supporters are already salivating in the shadows to divide the spoils. I can only hope that the incoming administration fulfills its promise to eradicate corruption. Para walang mahirap.
